How to choose a nail lamp: a dual UV/LED lamp cures every current gel type; 48W is the practical minimum for salon gels, and 96W or more cures faster and thicker builder gels evenly. Look for a motion sensor so clients can slide hands in without touching buttons, preset timers (10, 30, 60 seconds), a removable base for pedicures, and a rechargeable battery if you work mobile. Replace a lamp when polish starts curing tacky or unevenly — LEDs dim with age.
