Choose portable rechargeable brushless drills, tabletop e-files up to 45,000 rpm with foot pedals, and a full range of tungsten carbide, diamond and ceramic bits (barrels, cones, flame, under-nail cleaners, 5-in-1 bits, sanding bands and mandrels), plus dust collectors and replacement filters.
How to choose: a 30,000–35,000 rpm cordless drill covers most salon work; a 45,000 rpm tabletop machine with a foot pedal suits high-volume acrylic removal. Carbide bits remove product fast (coarse for acrylic, medium for gel), diamond bits are for cuticle and skin work, and sanding bands on a mandrel are the cheap option for shaping. Match the bit shank to the handpiece: 3/32" (2.35mm) is the salon standard.
