Wahl sells five different tools for the end of a haircut and they are not interchangeable. Trimmers do outlines and beards, foil shavers do skin, and within the trimmers there is a real difference between a Detailer, a Beret and an A-Lign. Wahl Detailer Li: the all-rounder
The cordless Detailer is the trimmer most barbers reach for first. It runs a full-size clipper motor, so it does not bog down in thick beard hair, and it carries the T-Wide blade, which is 6mm wider than a standard T-blade and coated in titanium and DLC to run cooler and stay sharp longer. It is zero-gap adjustable for close work, gives more than 100 minutes cordless with a charge indicator, and runs corded when the battery is flat. Line-ups, beard shaping, hairline and neck detail: it does all of it. Available in gold and black, and in a combo with the Black Magic Clip that is the cheapest way to build a complete cordless kit.
Wahl Detailer T-Wide (corded): the station trimmer
The corded Detailer T-Wide is the same rotary motor and wide T-blade with a cord and a lower price. If your trimmer lives at one station and never travels, the cord is not a problem and the money is better spent elsewhere.
Wahl Beret: slim, quiet, close
The Beret is the smallest trimmer in the line. A 0.4mm quick-detach chrome-plated blade, a rotary motor, cord or cordless operation and about 75 minutes of runtime from a 60-minute charge. It is the quietest trimmer here and the one to pick for beard work, necklines and nervous kids. The narrow blade gives less coverage than a T-Wide on a full line-up, which is the trade-off. The replacement blade snaps on without tools.
Wahl A-Lign: built for line-ups
The A-Lign exists for one thing: the sharpest, most visible line. Its T-blade is slimmer and narrower than the Detailer's so you can see exactly where the edge sits, it is zero-gap adjustable, and the high-speed rotary motor has the power for the tightest areas of a beard and hairline. If your reputation is built on crisp edges, this is the trimmer.
Wahl Vanish: the foil shaver
A trimmer cannot take hair to the skin cleanly. The 5 Star Vanish can: independent suspension cutter bars that each move to follow the contours of a head or jaw, and micro-thin gold foils for a close, controlled finish on fades, necklines and stubble. It is the last tool on a skin fade and the reason the fade looks done. Foils wear; the replacement foil and cutter bar brings it back to new.
Wahl Micro Power Finishing Tool
The Micro Power is the pocket version of the shaver idea: a compact cordless finisher with an ultra-close 0.05mm foil, about 2.5 hours of runtime and USB-C charging. For barbers who want a finishing tool in the drawer rather than on the station, or for home users tidying a neckline between cuts.

Beards, noses and small stuff
For beard shaping the Beret and the Detailer both work; the Beret is quieter and closer, the Detailer faster on a thick beard. For ears, nose and eyebrows use the Precision Ear, Nose and Eyebrow Trimmer, not a T-blade. Keep styptic at the station for nicks, add grips if your hands get slippery, and if you run three cordless tools, the Power Station charges all of them at once.
