Reuzel colour-codes its pomades, and once you know the code you can pick the right tin in seconds. The two questions to answer are: water-based or grease, and how much shine.
Water-soluble pomades: Red and Blue
Red is Reuzel's high-shine, medium-hold water-soluble pomade – the everyday slick-back and side-part pomade that washes out with water. Blue is the same idea with strong hold for thicker or more stubborn hair. Both restyle easily with a wet comb.
Grease pomades: Pink and Green
Pink is the heavy-hold, high-shine oil-based grease for classic pompadours and rockabilly styles that need to last all day and restyle without adding product. Green is the medium-hold grease for a softer, more natural slick look. Grease pomades do not rinse out with water alone – use a clarifying shampoo to remove them fully.
Matte and low-shine: Fiber, Clay, Extreme and Concrete
Fiber gives medium hold with a low-shine, natural finish and pliable texture. Clay Matte is strong hold with no shine for textured crops and quiffs. Extreme Hold and Concrete Hold are the strongest matte options for hair that will not stay put. All four are water-based. For a lighter, workable matte finish, the Matte Styling Paste is the paste alternative.

How to apply pomade
- Start with towel-dried hair for water-based pomades, dry hair for grease.
- Take a fingertip-sized amount and work it between your palms until warm.
- Apply from the back to the front, then comb into shape. Add more only if needed.
