The Brasil Cacau ECO Keratin kit is three bottles and a fixed order of operations. Stylists who know keratin services will find it familiar; anyone buying it for the first time should know what each step is for before opening the box. What is in the kit
The ECO Keratin Professional Kit is 3 x 110ml, enough for one service on average-length hair. The three steps are also sold as singles for salons that go through the treatment faster than the shampoo and mask.
Step 1: Anti-Residue Shampoo
Anti-Residue Shampoo is a deep-cleansing preparation shampoo that strips styling product, oils and build-up so the treatment can reach the hair. Wash twice, rinse thoroughly, then towel-dry to damp. Do not condition; anything left on the hair blocks Step 2.
Step 2: ECO Keratin Treatment
The ECO Keratin Treatment is the formaldehyde-free smoothing step that smooths the cuticle, reduces frizz and boosts radiance. Section the hair, apply strand by strand with a brush from a centimetre off the scalp to the ends, comb through for even coverage and let it process for the time on the kit directions. Then blow-dry the hair completely and flat-iron it in fine sections at the temperature the directions specify, several passes per section. The iron is what seals the treatment in; rushing it is the most common reason a service falls short.
Step 3: Deep Conditioning Mask
Rinse, then apply the Deep Conditioning Mask, a rich mask that restores softness and shine and rebalances the hair after the service. Leave it for the time on the pack, rinse, and blow-dry to finish.
Aftercare from day one
Send the client home with the Anti Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner, and the instruction to avoid clarifying shampoos, salt water and tight ties in the first weeks. Where stylists go wrong
- Skipping the second wash. Residue left on the hair gives patchy results.
- Applying too close to the scalp. Leave a centimetre.
- Ironing hair that is not fully dry. The seal will not take.
- Sections too thick at the iron. Fine sections, several passes.
